No internet connection? No problem! If you’re somewhere without Wi-Fi or mobile data, you can still enjoy Snake.io. The game supports offline gameplay so you don’t have to miss out on the fun when you’re traveling or experiencing a connection issue.
Here’s how to get started in just four simple steps:
1. Download and Start the Game
First, make sure Snake.io is installed on your device. Offline play is currently supported on versions available through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Apple Arcade, Amazon Appstore, Nintendo Switch, and XBOX. The game also has a web version, though it requires an internet connection to play.
Simply open your device’s app store, search for Snake.io, and download the game. Once the installation is complete, tap the Snake.io icon to launch the game.
Note: You’ll need an internet connection to download and install Snake.io for the first time, so make sure the game is ready before heading somewhere without internet access.
2. Choose Unranked Mode (For Select Versions)
Once you’re on the main menu, look for the game mode selector in the bottom-right corner of your screen, just above the Play button. To play without an internet connection, select Unranked Mode.
Ranked Mode requires an internet connection. If you try to enter Ranked Mode while offline or lose connection in the middle of the game, the game will automatically switch to Unranked Mode instead.
Note: This step does not apply to the Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade, and XBOX versions of Snake.io. If you’re playing on any of these platforms, you can skip ahead to Step 3.
3. Play and Enjoy
Tap the Play button to jump into the arena and start slithering!
Collect pellets to grow your snake, avoid crashing into other snakes, and use your speed boost strategically to survive longer. You can also defeat other snakes by making them crash into your body, then collect the pellets they leave behind to grow even bigger!
4. Climb the Leaderboard
Playing offline doesn’t mean your progress won’t count toward the leaderboard. Once you’re back online, Snake.io will automatically sync your offline scores and update your leaderboard standing. This way, you can still participate in the competition even if you weren’t connected while playing.
